omg the dark knight omg

omg omg

My insides are not completely settled after watching that, even though me and e.mile choo hung out in the car for like 10 minutes to calm our nerves and then went to the mall for half an hour and looked at a crystal rhinocerous (priced $4000) and smelled a little piece of Heaven. THE DARK KNIGHT OMG OMG OMG. I DID NOT THINK IT WOULD BE SO DARK. EVERYTHING GOT BLOWN UP AND SHOT AND STABBED AND THROWN THROUGH A GLASS WALL-SLASH-OUT OF A 5000000 STORY WINDOW AND BURNINATED AND RUN OVER AND OMG. OMG!

It was so good and excellently done and well-executed but OMG, HOW DO PEOPLE WATCH IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN!! I DO NOT HAVE THE EMOTIONAL STAMINA TO DO THAT. I AM GOING TO HAVE TO WAIT THREE YEARS BEFORE I CAN WATCH IT AGAIN. I was all crycat near the end because of all those good people, trying so hard, worn thin, getting all their good intentions and morals fucked up by their fucked up city and fucked up people. That kind of stuff always makes me so so sad. Trying so hard!! SO THANKLESS! The change is going to be so slow and so hard!! D:

Here is a bullet list of shallow-to-medium thoughts to make me feel better about how D: the movie made me. Why was it so good?? If it was shitty then my insides would not be so rattled still. :((((

- I fucking hate that movie theaters are showing COMMERCIALS. Straight up! WE HAD TO SIT THROUGH A CAR COMMERCIAL. THAT IS BULLSHIT, OKAY. Where are all the stupid movie trivia and local ads and stuff??
- wtf The Spirit looks like a stupid sexist comic book movie. Which oh! coincidentally, it is!
- the new 007 movie looks hella hot. Daniel Craig you are so hot.
- Russell Crowe and Leo Di'o in a blow em up spy chase movie! Okay, I'll be there.
- opening scene, William Fitchner, Bank Manager shooting shit up with that huge gun. Badass.
- why was Cillian Murphy even in the movie? I thought the Scarecrow went to prison at the end of Batman Begins, why is he out driving trucks around?
- Aaron Eckhart's perfectly rectangular head and small black shark eyes. I was so sad with his face all gasolined and on fire and his spirit being broken and going around shooting people and listening to the Joker and everyone omg believing in him. Also I was super proud of myself for knowing that Harvey Dent = Two-Face, so in my head it was like, "his nickname from internal affairs was probably TWO-FACE, because he's TWO-FACE!!" and "he has the flippy coin because he's TWO-FACE!!" and "half the rectangle is all gasolined because he's TWO-FACE!!"
- C. Bale is pretty hot stuff. So is Aaron Eckhart's perfectly rectangular head. Awesome.
- Wait lolwhut, there was like THREE WOMEN with names in the entire thing. Rachel, Ramirez, and Gordon's Wife. Okay! BTW I thought Maggie Gyllenhaal was fine. The role is pretty thankless.
- The entire beginning of the movie was really, really good. I like all the conversations between BWayne and Alfred, and BWayne and Lucius Fox. That name is too ridiculous.
- Oh speaking of ridiculous! LOLOL Christian Bale's Batman voice. WTF? Was that how it sounded in the first movie? If so, LOLOLOLOL.
- nooooo dnw the joker ever ever ever. noooooooooooooooooooooooo. But Heathus Christ did a good job. Everything about the Joker was so well-written and well-done.
- Actually I think I will be cool with rewatching the movie until Gordon fake-dies. Because after that was just too harrowing and DDD:ing.
- Gordon not really being dead! Lt. Gordon becoming Commissioner Gordon! I was so happy for both of those.
- omg the firetruck on fire was so creepy and disturbing an image. i h8 u joker >(((
- This was so well-written, so many good lines. Even though I think the ending was a little more sentimental and shit than it had to be, with the strings and uh, I don't know, I thought Harvey's fall could've been a little more precipitated. But I think having a love interest's death being the catalyst for a main character's narrative arc is always going to be kinda weak anyway. (Coincidentally, this is almost always a woman's death inspiring a man's journey. Fancy that!).
- Okay about 3/4ths of the way through I started comforting myself with the fact that this was just a movie, and Aaron Eckhart is probably all smiley and good-humored out there and not half on fire and poisioning the world with his h8, and all the actors are fine (lollo I'm stupid). But then I remembered Heath Ledger. Man I wish someone woulda warned me about this movie.
- The ships not blowing up! Thank god they threw us a bone. I was so prepared for them to be LOL EVERYONE DIES, EVERYTHING IS HOPELESS, They totally could've gone there though, if they wanted a movie that was relentlessly dark and a universe where good is futile and an audience that would go home and kill themselves. But the ships not blowing up, that's what makes this a superhero movie.
- POOR BATMAN. LOL that statement. That's how I feel though! POOR BATMAN. He only wanted to inspire good, and he is all heartbroken and confused at how he started this fucked up war of escalation. POOR BATMAN. :((( Gordon's speech at the end made me crycat.
- The night is darkest before the dawn, you say? Things have to get worse before they get better, you say?? Then the next movie should be -- it should be -- Batman should get a cat or something. A bulletproof cat.

.:. DO NOT WANT ANARCHY.

I am told that the Joker doesn't care about black people.

Because in the movie, he is only seen killing black people on screen. Other people die, but are off screen.

I don't want to watch it again to verify this though. At least not this week. D:

[lame, restoring comments from a old cached pg since I accidentally deleted them]

That doesn't surprise me thaaat much b/c there were a couple of moments that I wasn't so sure of. Like the majority of black people in the movie were uhh criminals (obvs exception of Morgan Freeman), and I remember the Joker shooting a black civilian in the face during the super long car chase scene on the highway. So idk but I agree, I don't want to rewatch for a longcat time. D:
