Rewatching hours of clips on the confusing as fuck NBC Olympics website. I love the fuck out of this shit oh my god. I love the medal ceremonies. I love the moments right before the athletes start. I love people draped in their flags. I love when countries medal for the first time. Goddamn I love almost everything. (It's almost because I tried watching shooting and archery and holy cats I couldn't believe how fucking boring that was.) The Olympics!! I mean it's so pure. They are the best of the best of the best. They've worked so hard and they wanted it so much and there they are, at the front of the whole world, out of such strength and love for their sport and their country.

Women's gymnastics, individual all-around finals: Nastia Liukin is so long and graceful. Her gymnastics are very dancery and beautiful. She really does make it all look so easy; so light on her landings. I think I like Shawn Johnson better though. She is super duper cute! Very strong and energetic. But Nastia getting her gold medal, lordy, that was so touching.
