Demetri Martin - The Jokes With Guitar
Oh, Demetri Martin. When you're on, you are ON. "'Sort of' is a harmless thing to say, 'sort of'... it's a filler, it doesn't really mean anything... but after certain things, 'sort of' means everything. Like after 'I love you.' Or, 'you're going to live.' Or, 'it's a boy!'"

Mew - Her Voice Is Beyond Her Years
It took me a while to warm up to Mew's And the Glass Handed Kites, but I did, because they're pretty amazing. Er, that comment was irrelevant though; this song is from the album before that, Frengers. Still amazing! I love delicate-steady vocals with rockin' energy thrumming all goodly. (I am so dissatisfied with this description but I can't think of anything else to say!! I will update as soon as I get it close to right.) "I couldn't let you go."
Tori Amos - Father Lucifer
Half of Boys for Pele is really good. Tori Amos' voice is capable of being quite lovely and not annoying at all! And she has this really remarkable quality with pianos. "Tell me that you still in love with that milkmaid."
Björk - Bachelorette
I've recently become a baby Björk fan after seeing an interview posted on ONTD. Her accent is so fucking cute. This song is nicely dramatic and sweeping, like something sung in a dark wood at night in a sentient, wild way. Great lyrics. Stay with it! "If you forget my name, you will go astray."
Mint Royale - Don't Falter
For some reason I thought Mint Royale was a one trick pony with the Singin' in the Rain remix. N'aww, not really at all. "Hey, don't fawl-ter."
Gil Scott-Heron - The Revolution Will Not Be Televised
Um, yis, this is random, but I've been listening to it lately. I remember I used to pull this up while playing Freaky Factory quite a lot last year. That is how you know a song is meaningful. Ughh I wish I had something good and worthy to say about this, but I cannot brain right now and this music spam has been sitting around for ages. Smart, driven, human, political, clever, with passion. Download it, you won't be sorry. Mmm, spoken word and godfathers of rap. "The revolution will not go better with Coke. The revolution will not fight the germs that may cause bad breath. The revolution will put you in the driver's seat."
RXRA - Little Light of Love
Aw, I had this mislabelled as Milla Jovovich (yes, that Milla Jovovich. She does have a good voice that sounds like this one, though). "Little light of sole religion."
Booker T & the MG's - Green Onions
You've probably heard this song before without knowing it was a proper song. It was on the latest SPN episode. I talk in sentences.
The Format - Time Bomb
I didn't want to like the Format (because I wanted to delete the album after extracting Dog Problems the song from it), but I kinda do. Damn. "Tick, tock - you're not a clock, you're a time bomb, baby, a time bomb --"

My Morning Jacket's Anytime sunk its claws deep into my brain a few days ago. You know how songs do that. You have them for a year, you like them fine, then wham! They hit you over the head with a board and take over and you find yourself warbling "words, only, gottt, in the wayy (oooaaaaah ahhh ahhhh)" at ten different incidents per day. I think this is my cue to scour the net for more MMJ. Props to Emily in any case for introducing the song to me. (A year ago. LATENT ENEMY!!)

If any of you are on the hunt for any type of music, give me a head's up. Or just general requests! Unless you hate my taste in music. Then... stay quiet, I don't need to hear it. I got another free YSI trial upgrade and I really enjoy using that sucker to the bitter end.
