without even a goodbye
I've really been out of the loop in kpop; I didn't know that IU even had a new song that came out this year. The MV is beautiful. The lyrics are sad, but the music and her voice are big and open-hearted.
I know she never explicitly said it was about her departed friends, but I interpret the MV that way. The final image, of Sulli being caught by jjong and flying in the opposite direction as IU, looking lost for a moment as she looks back, and IU saying goodbye. So painful and poignant. And then IU wakes up.
I have had a vascillating view on IU over the years, but her talent has developed really amazingly. She is a real artist.
I really really wish the BTS member didn't feature. But maybe that's part of it; the intrusion of the industry spectating and profiting off of a relationship that they have no connection to. Probably that's not the intended effect at all.
